Demigod is fun, and more than any other character I play TB because he rocks. 

Ice mode is far superior to fire mode, though, and I've started playing games where I never switch to fire mode, except to get the mana regen boost and the damage boost from switching back.

Deep freeze bugs some times and I don't understand why. Occasionally in the heat of battle, I'll press 3 (for deep freeze) and target a bad guy. But the Deep Freeze doesn't take a TB just stands there. Intrinsically, I immediately repeat the other and try Deep Freeze again. The bug is that Deep Freeze won't work until I give a move order then try it after that. It shouldn't be like that.

Another bug is I had a large 5v5 panthenon game last night. About every 20 minutes the game would suffer a 2 minute long lag spike... for 2 minutes the game would freeze, the screen would turn a monotone grey, it looks like the game engine crashed.... but I waited it out all 3 times and 2 minutes later the game resumed as if there had never been any hiccup. Totally kills the pace of the game imo.

Lastly is another balance remark. The level 20 cap sucks. I understand the usefulness is having only 20 skill points. This makes sense, but the level 20 cap is a huge burden. I was playing in previously mentioned 5v5. I was 5 levels ahead of everybody else when I reached level 20 because I had been kicking ***, including a 15 kill streak. I ended up amassing 30,000 gold. I got the +120 attack sword and the God Plate armor. I was ripping through enemy Demigods. The problem was the game was on forts (eg, destroy all 5 enemy forts to win). 2 enemy forts remained, and whenever I'd attack either of them, 4-5 enemy demis would tele scroll there to fight me off. Seeing as I stopped leveling and they had continued, they were just trying to stall me.... and it worked. I managed to kill 1 more fort, but not both of them, before all my enemies reached levels 19/20. Despite being far better than anyone on the opposing team, I still lost the game because of the level cap. Allow more levels, just don't give skill points after level 20.

Oh, a favor points are bugged too. I was saving up favor points for an expensive item. When my favor point count reached around 600, at the start of the next game I had only 150. The favor point count resets itself.

Achievements also don't work. At least twice I have been awarded an achievement in-game, the big announcement came up, fellow players even made comments congratulating me. I open impulse, go to 'achievements' and 'You have no unlocked and achievements yet.' Fabulous.

The beta originally had 25 levels.  The game plays better with 20, because then you actually have to make choices.

Funk was in the beta I believe.  I think this is just something that slipped passed us beta testers.  Besides, the choice is still there since there's only 20 skills points.  But it would still be nice to get stat boosts at levels above 20.

About your 5v5.  I know this isn't DOTA but I can relate.  I was once in a game as Medusa and farmed myself retarded.  I could literally take on 1v3 any 3 members of the opposing team.  But what ended up happening was that my level advantage and money advantage dissipated over time.  I wasn't able to destroy the enemy base alone.  My teammates refused to help, they were really bad.  We lost bigtime.  As soon as I eventually died (by 5 ppl ofc, 1v5), they countered with their own push and won the game easily.

In a 5v5 or 4v4, in no way shape or form should 1 person ever be able to be stacked hard enough to take on the entire other enemy team.  Why were you 1v5'ing the objectives when you should have been 5v5'ing.  That was your own fault.  As soon as you hit level 20 and had your advantage you should've just pushed to win with the whole team + giants (Did you have giants or did you just selfishly spend your money on items?).  If you didn't, blame yourself and only yourself.  Level caps are manditory.  You use your advantage when you have it or you lose your advantage.  IMO you were a far inferior player since you couldn't even get your team to push with you when you probably knew it would end the game easily.  If all the other players were leavers and you were 1v5'ing I'd just go ahead and say it was already game over just by that alone.  Games are not balanced around leavers =].

 

Sorry to be blunt.  Good teamwork wins games, not a single good player.  Although a single good player can impact the game quite a bit, generally they can't win an entire game by themselves.

I find some of your remarks to be very true.

The one that I take particular issue to is the reason for wanting to level up higher.  Do you think you should be surprised that 4-5 of the enemies teleported to the fort to protect it?  Where were your allies?  Maybe you just didn't mention this, but if you were *that* powerful, why did you not just bring your allies with you to fight?  As is usually the case, teamwork > individual strength...

your sure that your favor points are reset? Because  they are character-based...so if you change that you have to get new favor points.

THIS is Demigod's worst problem besides connection. Happens to all demigods as far as I know and is really irritating. Especially when you want to heal and the bug gets you killed instead.

Hegion:  I've only ever played TB.  I haven't played any other character.

htiger:  The 5v5 I describe was a panthenon game.  You can're reasonably expect to bark orders at random ppl on the internet and them to follow.

rain 9441:  Actually, I bought 3 levels of fortification upgrades AND catapultisauri + giants for my team.  The other team got giants at teh exact same time, so it was a moot point.

Well if you bought all that then I'd just say you lost because of a bad team.  I'd have to say that I'm not really surprised given how new the game is and how many players are online playing for the first time each day.

I still stand by my opinion though that no 1 single player should be able to win the game in a 4v4 or 5v5.  If you're team was that abd (and they sound like it), you were doomed from the start.

I hate reading long post but here my comment :

 

Deep freeze is not the only skill that bug, every dg that has a unit target skill will encounter that problem. Most well know are Sedna heal, UB drain and u can xploit the bug, I know a way to make it happen all the time but it is a double edge.

Beta lvl cap was 30(what I heard of) -> 25 -> 20. It make u chose the skill wisely. It is not the lvl cap that suck on ur game but ur stategie.

Read the forum, they is a pantheon favor point bug, when u play pantheon game, u have a chance to get favor reseted or netagive.

Yup, the bug of not using your ability after clicking it is game wide.

 

I was playing Erebus and tried to bite someone.  It was on the edge of his "in range" and typically he just does not respond and stops attacking and or moving (really REALLY fustrating).  Then if you click to move or attack, it sort of wakes him up.  Click bite again and it usually goes off.

This sucks big TIME when you're low on health and really need bite's health bonus...

I'd just like to state that TB "rocks" because he's a bit imba. You would think the problem would be noticeable when the dark side of the pantheon is ahead by tens of thousands of points and half of dark plays as TBs. Yes, there are some balance issues in other aspects, and some bugs with each class, but let's be honest. TB is rather imbalanced.

I play fire tb and I don't think it is underpowered at all. I can usually kill 2-3 demigods in a crowd by spamming fire rings nova and then finish them off with a weapon. Different strokes I guess.

Oppinion was fairly divided about that idea even in the beta. Having a lower level cap doesn't give any more choices, technically you have 5 less choices of where to put skill points. Yes, eventually you'd end up with all the skills possible if you leveled forever, but choosing "if" you get a skill is no more important a choice than choosing "when", especially if the time frame's long enough.

 

I still think it would have been preferable to keep a higher level cap and fiddle with the experience curve to make leveling post 20 slow enough that you're stuck with your lvl 20 build for a reasonable while. It may not happen that often but reaching the level cap messes with game play, you don't have many ways left to build up a statistical advantage, and for the first players to reach it they can't even maintain their existing advantage regardless of if out playing the opposition.

 

It's at its worst when pantheon starts throwing out uneven teams, the smaller team get an experience lead and overall it's a close match, but the tension's ruined when the smaller team hits the level cap and there's not much you can do to keep ahead of the bigger team as they catch up in levels.

I'm happy with the 20 lvl cap. Thinking of a dual spec TB makes me shake. The game is about crushing the other team b4 the can level up for me lol. Hit level cap, gather gold is secondary objective so I can get artifacts, crush other team. No need for 10 more levels of struggling.

I was under the impression that once you hit max level you start getting more gold in place of the XP. Perhaps the amount of gold could be adjusted so the team with the XP lead then maintains a gold lead and therefore retain the edge in balance of power?

It sounds like the amount of extra gold generated now doesnt quite make up for hitting the cap.
